DESITIN, I HATE YOU!

For all you moms out there, this is for you. Or at least to give you a chuckle.
My mom came to visit me a while since I'm confined to my house until the Dr. gives me new orders (see my other posts for more details) and I was pleasantly surprised because my son Lucas was keeping to himself in his room.
When my mom headed for the door I went to Lucas' room to tell him to say goodbuy and was astonished when I found the DVD player, dresser and my 2 year old boy covered in Desitin diaper cream. Only a mother can know the feeling...I wanted to scream so badly, luckily my mom was still there and helped me clean up, but even then it took at least 30 minutes ofscrubbing the nasty and thick creamy substance out of all the furniture. I had to use about 1/2 a box of wipes.
Yes, I know what you are thinking, how did he reach it, don't you put the diaper cream in the top shelf?
I do indeed, but he has officially fgured out how to move furniture in order to reach his goals....I guess my little boy is not so little anymore and I have to start hanging stuff from the ceiling or else get rid of all the furniture in my house.

That really stinks. I had a similar incident about a year ago with peanut butter. Well, at least it wasn't poop.Right?

LOL I so understand, less than a week after buying out son (then 2) an expensive new bedroom suit (this was bought in preparation for us having our 2nd, we bought furniture that would last the two of them for YEARS, an investment if you will...) anywhoo he took a marker and circled all the knobs on his chest of drawers!!! I almost died, thank God for Mr. Clean magic erasers!!! LOL

My son will be 2 in June and already he is making a mess. juice in the food, powdered floors, cereal hair, must I go on?

But I do feel your pain...All you can do sometimes is laugh though it always makes things better!

remember never to let a child use Mr Clean because of the chemicals involved. Wash your hands too.

That said here's my worst story: one son scratched his name into the paint of the car to mark "his door" from his little brother's side. Little brother once disapeared. You know how that is.. that sinking feeling a mom has when the little one is "too quiet"? He was found behind my special chair, having covered himself in the red colorant gel from my new cake decorating kit. Let me tell you, two ounces goes a LlllloooooOOOOnnnnnggggg way in a two year old's hands!

Yep. I've got a couple of those little stories myself....not so funny at the time but good for a laugh after 48 hours when you have forgiven the little darling(s).
One of my most irritating reoccuring incidents is the "pantry raid" - usually ends up with flour & cereal everywhere....aaahhhh. The sorbolene cream rubbed (in pretty swirls) all over the wool carpet is another good one. Love em.
